The Foundation

Nature.
The primary material used is clay, establishing a direct link between human craftsmanship and nature.

Community.
Pottery serves as a sanctuary for freeing the mind. Working with clay fosters a relaxed atmosphere, shifting the focus from individuality to shared projects and values.
Art therapy.
Craft psychology plays an essential role in our approach. Fluuido emphasizes the interplay of time, creativity, the mind-body connection, and the benefits that follow. Engaging in pottery as a form of art therapy has been scientifically proven to reduce cortisol levels, enhance relaxation, and promote emotional well-being.

Culture.
With a rich tradition of artisanship, pottery serves as a universal tool both in the realm of art and daily life. Fluuido serves as a hub for fostering connections between people, elements, and diverse experiences within the world of ceramics.

The person behind

My name is Sidsel Brorsen. Born in Denmark, and living in Italy. I am a creative with formal training in Fashion Design, currently exploring the intersection of craft, art, and design. With 10 years of experience in the fashion industry, I have collaborated with various brands from Copenhagen to Milan, driven by my passion for creativity and hands-on work.

In the past three years, I have deepened my focus on artisanship and handcraft, particularly in clay, and have discovered the therapeutic benefits of creating with my hands. This journey inspired me to establish a physical space that merges my interest in clay with the concept of “Art Therapy" - A holistic experience that combines tactile sensations, creative expression, and meditative focus.

In October 2024, I proudly opened Fluuido Laboratory in Milan, Italy, providing an intimate sanctuary for individuals seeking to escape the everyday stresses that we all encounter. This welcoming environment invites everyone to connect with my vision.

I hope I will be able to enjoy my physical universe with you! If not, I would love to connect with you here on my website or through my social channels.
With love, Sissi

How long does it take to make a ceramic piece? The process of making a ceramic piece can vary depending on the complexity, size, and finishing details. On average, it takes anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks for hand-building and wheel-throwing before the piece is ready for its first firing. After that, there’s the glazing and second firing process, which typically adds another 1-2 weeks. -

Additionally, if you purchase the full Open Studio membership, you will also have the opportunity to sell your pottery creations on our website, connecting with customers who appreciate the art of ceramics.
-
How should I care for my ceramic pieces? To maintain the beauty and durability of your ceramics, here’s a guide for both unglazed stoneware and glazed ceramics: Unglazed Stoneware: Hand-wash only with warm water. Avoid soaking in water for extended periods as it can cause absorption of moisture. We recommend waxing the outside of the vase every 1-2 years to maintain the surface and keep dust from layering too much. Glazed Ceramics: You can hand wash glazed ceramics or use a dishwasher, but we recommend gentle care to maintain the glaze's finish. Always let the ceramics cool before washing to prevent any sudden temperature changes, which could cause cracking.
-
Are your ceramics microwave- and dishwasher-safe?Most of our ceramics are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, thanks to the durable stoneware material and the high-quality glazes we use. However, to extend the life of your pieces and protect both the ceramic and the glaze, we recommend hand-washing delicate or intricate items. For microwave use, avoid putting pieces with metallic elements in the microwave.
-
Do you offer gift cards?Yes, we offer gift cards! If you're looking for the perfect gift, our gift cards allow your loved ones to choose their own handmade ceramics. You can find more details on the Make a Gift page on our website. It’s a thoughtful and flexible gift for anyone who appreciates the art of ceramics.

How do you package your ceramics to ensure they arrive safely? We take great care in packaging our ceramics to ensure they arrive safely. Each piece is wrapped in protective materials such as bubble wrap, foam padding, and sturdy boxes to prevent any breakage during transit. Fragile items are additionally cushioned with recyclable materials to minimize any movement inside the box. Rest assured, we ensure the best possible protection for your ceramics.
